Research Focus
Monitoring and analysis
The research group performs the Danish Capital Region Health Survey. A significant part of the research in the section is centered around these data, in addition to monitoring and evaluating of trial programmes through the Evaluation and Analysis model. Results from these studies are used to support and ensure that national public health programmes function optimally and seamlessly.
Prevention
Research in this field investigates the effectiveness and utility of health promoting and preventive initiatives. The research projects are primarily intervention and implementation focused. Among these are the following ongoing projects:
A RCT-study investigating metabolic and behavioural consequences of reducing salt consumption in the Danish population.
A project in six municipalities investigating the effect of economic reward of smoking cessation as means for recruiting socioeconomically disadvantaged citizens to municipal councelling offers.
"Vores Sunde Hverdag": Based on the experience and data from the SoL project to establish a concrete, coordinated and interdisciplinary preventive effort in Danish municipalities.
"Det Sektorfri Forebyggelseslaboratorium" is a regional project based on Danske Regioner's initiative "SUNDHED FOR LIVET" from April 2017. The project shall produce new knowledge and create a stronger basis for prioritizing new types of evidence-based prevention initiatives.
Chronic disease
The section is involved with research in the field of chronic disease, specifically with rehabilitation and vulnerable patient groups. A part of the group are researchers in the national RCT study into active patient support. Patients with a particularily high risk of advanced healthcare requirements are offered a special support from specialised doctors and medical practitioners. The resulting effect on health and quality of life is investigated. The RESULT project is a 5-year research project, which is carried out at Hvidovre Hospital. Focus is on reduction of social inequality in the cross-sectorial rehabilitation work.
