
Nikita Misella Hansen is a postdoc in Section for Health Promotion and Prevention. She is a clinical dietitian, MSc in clinical nutrition and earned her PhD from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen in 2023. Nikita has extensive experience working with intervention-based nutrition studies in different patient groups. In her PhD Nikita completed a randomized clinical trial that investigated the effects of a new diet in patients with chronic kidney disease. The study received widespread international recognition.
Nikita is author of the book "REN", which is based on the work from her Ph.D. In addition, she is co-author of the chapter "kroniske nyresygdomme" in the textbook "Klinisk Ernæring".
In her postdoc, Nikita continues her work with intervention-based clinical nutrition for patients with chronic diseases. She is currently conducting research on the impact of a plant-based diet on rheumatoid arthritis patients in the PLATE project. Over the course of a 16-week intervention period, patients in the intervention group will receive weekly meal boxes containing plant-based nutrients, along with education and dietary guidance.
