Nicoline Siemsen is a PhD student in the Section for Intersectoral Health Services Research. Nicoline has a master's degree in psychology from the University of Copenhagen. Her research interests focus on children and adolescents' well-being and holistic interventions involving both their family and the network of professional care takers.
In her PhD project, Nicoline is evaluating STIME – Strengthened Cross-Sector Effort for Children's and Adolescent's Mental Health. STIME is a holistic treatment program aimed at children and adolescents who are showing early signs of anxiety, depression, attention disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, and obsessive-compulsive disorders (read more here).
Nicoline has worked as a psychologist in PPR (Educational Psychological Counseling) in the Municipality of Copenhagen. As part of her master's thesis, she researched health inequality in PPR and studied the cooperation between parents and PPR psychologists through a case study. Her research was published in the Journal of Educational Psychology (Pædagogisk Psykologisk Tidsskrift) and won the Rubin Award for Article of the Year in 2023. Nicoline has also worked on the international and interdisciplinary intervention study RefugeesWellSchool as part of the Danish project group from the Department of Public Health at the University of Copenhagen. Here, Nicoline helped study the effects of preventive school-based efforts for children and adolescent in reception classes (if you are curious about the findings).
