Research profile and interest

My research focuses on effective processes for developing and implementing health-promoting initiatives in collaboration with target groups and relevant stakeholders, with the aim of creating more sustainable public health interventions and programs. As an early-career researcher in health promotion and implementation science, I am passionate about participatory approaches and the value they bring by involving diverse stakeholders – from decision-makers and community representatives to parents and children – to ensure that interventions and their implementation are relevant, sustainable, and grounded in local contexts.

I am particularly interested in how collaborative approaches can enhance the implementation, acceptance, and long-term impact of public health initiatives, as well as in understanding and addressing barriers to their implementation. I apply a broad range of innovative, interdisciplinary approaches, drawing on implementation science, realist evaluation, and systems-oriented methodologies to explore not only whether interventions work, but also why and how they do so in specific settings and systems.

I hold a Master of Science (cand.scient.) in Sports and Health from the University of Southern Denmark, earned in 2019. That same year, I began my research career as a research assistant at the National Research Centre of Work Environment (NFA). I am currently pursuing my PhD, which involves an evaluation of a community-based intervention to promote childhood health, embedded in the Generation Healthy Kids project. My ambition is that my research will contribute to better translation of research into practice and support the implementation of more sustainable, context-sensitive public health interventions.
