Dorthe Corfitzen Pedersen

Dorthe is a  PhD student in the Section for Clinical Epidemiology and has a graduate degree in human nutrition from the University of Copenhagen. Her primary interest is nutrition in early life, childhood growth, reproductive health and relationship between maternal body size and the health of their children. Dorthe's research has included projects on the prevelence of obesity and extreme obesity in children from different ethnic groups and trends in height during childhood and adulthood up to the age of 60. The purpose of her PhD project is to investigate how changes in body size from early childhood to adulthood affect women's risk of complications during pregnancy and birth in addition to the health of the child. This work is based on the Copenhagen School Nurse Journals registry and national registries.
