We invite abstracts from health practitioners and scholars across disciplines whose work seeks to understand, challenge, and intervene in the social and structural conditions driving health inequity.

What to submit
Abstracts are submitted through this website. Each submission includes:
● Title (max 25 words)
● Authors (listed in order of contribution)
● Abstract (max 300 words), structured as background, methods, results, and discussion
● Theme — choose the one that best fits your work:
1. Historical and global perspectives on social medicine
2. Structural and policy perspectives on social medicine
3. From interventions to grassroots action — practices that address inequality
● Format — rank your preference (1, 2, 3) across: oral presentation, poster, workshop
There is no fixed number of abstracts per theme. If you are unsure whether your work fits the conference scope, please get in touch before submitting.
Presentation formats
Oral presentation — recent research, development, or practical experience, grouped into thematic sessions. Depending on the volume and balance of submissions, talks will range from short 3–5 minute formats up to 15–20 minutes. Presenters will be informed of specifics after selection.
Poster presentation — a visual format for research findings, practical experience, or insight into local and larger initiatives. Posters are grouped by topic and given dedicated time during the conference's poster sessions.
Workshop — an interactive format for sharing knowledge and experience that doesn't fit an oral or poster slot. Workshops are 45 minutes by default; alternative formats are welcome. Workshop materials are the facilitators' responsibility.
In-person participation
Presenters are required to participate in person in Copenhagen. Online presentations will not be offered.
Travel grants
To support participation from researchers and practitioners with limited resources, eight travel grants are available:
● 4 grants of 10,000 DKK for participants travelling from outside Europe
● 4 grants of 5,000 DKK for participants travelling from within Europe
Grants are awarded by the programme committee based on CV and a short statement on financial circumstances. Details on how to apply will be published alongside the submission portal.
Early-career researchers
Dedicated oral and poster slots prioritise early-career researchers in abstract selection. PhD and master's students are embedded across the programme as session chairs and discussion moderators.
Equity and diversity
A conference on health equity has to model it. Speaker and presenter selection follows explicit criteria for gender balance, geographic representation, career-stage diversity, and disciplinary breadth — and the same applies to the organising committee.
