Objectives

Research and development
Our goal is to offer our patients the best treatment possible. The best treatment depends on both medical knowledge and state-of-the-art equipment. To achieve that goal we cooperate, both nationally and internationally, with other research departments, universities and hospitals.

Inspiring presentation of research results, new contacts and ideas often stem from direct dialogue. This is one reason why we want to participate in scientific conferences: To be inspired by others and to share our ideas and results. In terms of articles we set our goals high and always try to meet the standards of leading scientific journals.

Employee profile
At the Parker Institute we want employees with professional enthusiasm, and we believe that this is what we have got.

Our employees show a high degree of responsibility in their jobs – be it as laboratory technician, medical researcher or as a member of the administration. They reflect on the whys, wheres and whens of their jobs. From this follows mutual respect and important dialogue between different groups of employees at the Parker Institute.

Laboratory and Equipment
We have technical equipment of high standards and we wish to keep it that way. This means continuous trial of the possibilities of the existing equipment, e.g. research in the budding field of image fusion between MRI and ultrasound. Our laboratory staff steadily works on refining methods for defining specific cell components, thus making the most of the advanced flow-cytometer.

But machinery could be of little use for both patients and research if we cannot combine the results from the various examinations. To meet that end, we do our best to develop flexible and functional databases that facilitate extraction and combination of relevant data
