The Parker Institute was inaugurated in 1999 as a result of financial grants from The Oak Foundation, The Health Insurance Foundation (Helsefonden) and The Copenhagen Hospital Corporation (H:S).

Research for efficient treatments
Today’s research in diseases defines tomorrow’s treatment. Our vision for research in musculoskeletal diseases is to specify diagnosis even further and to be a part of the development of efficient treatments, both pharmacological and other kinds.

We strive for high quality in our research efforts, treatments and publications. To achieve this quality, both enthusiasm and professional experience are necessary. Nobody is experienced when they first start working in a new field; therefore researchers with little experience are guided by senior researchers as well as skilled nurses and technicians.

Professional independence is another keyword. To keep up our high quality we must be professionally independent – not only of donors, but also of popular and professional dogma.
